A history of culture, and of not letting things go to waste

Liè Zhī Bù was born from a time of scarcity — an era when nothing, especially cloth, could be thrown away. People took the clothes they couldn't bear to part with, cut them into strips, and wove them into something new, giving old fabric a second life.

Behind every piece of Liè Zhī Bù is a team of women artisans, working loom by loom, thread by thread. Weaving here has long been passed from mother to daughter, neighbor to neighbor — a skill held and carried forward almost entirely by women in the community.

That spirit runs through the whole of MUBEN. From the artisans at the loom to the women who run the brand itself, MUBEN is built, woven, and led entirely by women — a thread that connects everyone behind it, from Mangshi to wherever this fabric ends up next.
